Specific Surface Area
The total surface area per unit mass of a material, with the unit m²/g. The microstructural characteristics of ultrafine powder particles not only exhibit irregular surface shapes but often include pore structures. The size, shape, and quantity of pores significantly influence specific surface area measurements, making the determination of pore volume and pore size distribution a critical field in powder material characterization.
- Testing Methods: Nitrogen Adsorption Method, Mercury Intrusion Porosimetry
Instrument Technical Parameters
- Porosity: 3.5–5000 Å
- Pore Size: 2 nm–200 nm
- Specific Surface Area: 0.1–3500 m²/g
- Measurement Repeatability: ≤±3%
Sample Submission Requirements and Precautions
- Solid samples: 200–1000 mg in a plastic centrifuge tube.
- Samples must be free of water and low-molecular-weight organic compounds; otherwise, test results may be abnormal.
- Samples must be stable and non-decomposable at the pretreatment temperature.
